    Hi Barun,
    Does it mean that we can be in touch with Mr. Bimal Gurung ?
    You doing a great job.

  3. barunroy Says:

    Dear Mahesh,

    Yes, you can get in touch with not just Mr. Bimal Gurung but with all the other leaders. This includes Mr. Bimal Gurung, Mr. R. B. Rai, Mr. Madan Tamang, Mr. Deepak Gurung and in fact all the leaders in the hills, except Mr. Subash Ghisingh. I would like to however, request all the members of the forum to however, refrain from making personal remarks. Constructive criticism, concerns, best wishes, and letters of support to the like would be accepted. You can use your online ‘callnames’ no permanent address is required or need to be mentioned. However, the mention of the cities could be advised.

    I would like to bring to their attention regarding the water project that was started some time back. That time I was not in Darjeeling but read on the paper that the ceremony took place in Chowrasta etc. etc. So, can these leaders do something atleast for water scarcity and the road condition.
    How can we bring our friends from abroad where the tap, geyser, handshower etc etc everything is available in bathroom but the water is in bucket that too not full bucket.

  5. Johnny Gorkha Says:

  8. Robin Says:

    Hey Bimal Dai…just went through ur interview..well it seems ur activities seem very much aligned keeping in mind the public support that ur now enjoying…However let me tell u..this are the very people who supported Ghising thats including u some time back..the question is do u think the people can sustain themselves till 2010 ???…that too how come u did fix a date before March 2010 for declaring Gorkhaland…the only option i can visualizeis that the Govt. (Newly elected since we jst got 1 yr left for this current one ) goes in for another SRC and includes DGHC. What do we do till 2010 ? hungerstrike 21 at a time in rotation ??..The purpose of ur hungerstrike was not benevolent towards the issue of gorkhaland..it seems ur now only after ghising….The whole bunch of GJMM guys went in there just to ask that ????…was really surprised.. People ARE following u blindly right now because they want 1 - Gorkhaland is a sentimental issue 2 - Incumbency factor of Ghising … Apart from that ur background has been completely ignored … People just want change.. hwoever this is will hardly last somedays…so please be honest with the people..and all the best and god bless

  9. Robin Says:

    Hopefully my comments wont get deleted..:)…and People showring beautiful comments on this blog to Bimal dai on the basis of corruption and misrule of GNLF for 20yrs….. My only suggestion is dont be BLIND and STUPID… Bimal dai was a part of GNLF till say 19 1/2 years…hehe..take care and peace..

    Jai Gorkha,
    dear bimal daju, as it has almost been 140 years of our establishment here at darjeeling, i have always heard of nepali existence here from my family members. I wish you luck and we all marwaris of darjeeling are with you. This is a fight not only for the nepalis here but also for the castes residing here for last 100 years and still without any identity. This is a struggle towards a new era for the people of Darjeeling.
    jai Gorkha , Jai gorkhaland! (a fight for our identity).

  20. Jyoti Thapa Mani Says:

    Dear Mr Bimal Gurung
    I appreciate your call that Gorkhas should all unite. I am from Bhagsu, Dharamshala. At times I have been told by a few Darjeelingers that I am an outsider and there is nothing in common between Darjeeling and Bhagsu Gorkhas. Shocking considering that Master Mitrasen Thapa, Durga Mall, INA Captain Ram singh Thakur, Dal Bahdur Thapa, Brig SherJung Thapa (1st Gorha to get a MVC) are all from Bhagsu. But I have stuck on with this blog because I am a Gorkha and anything to do with Gorkhas is my right too. All the best and regards, Ms Jyoti

  21. YK Shrestha Says:

    I entirely agree with you Jyotiji. I’m from Assam and at one point of time I was treated shabbily in Darjeeling forum by few Darjeelinge intellectuals based at US. Darjeelinges tend to look scornfully at the Gorkhas from other places. Mr. Gurung and all the Darjeelinges must understand and realise that they they need support from every quarter.

  22. jiwan Says:

    i would say that all indian gorkha whether they live in darjeeling or in any part of india or in any part of the world should unite together and give support to the democratic movement for gorkhaland, as when we unite then any power or political party can not stop from achieving our state under the constitution of india.
    Those people calling outsider to other indian gorkha living in other part of the country, are short sighted and unware of why we are dying to get gorkhaland( for identity of being an indian) or are people who call themself gorkha but oppose gorkhaland and there are many example to prove it also. So we must ignore all this and unite together to achieve our goal.
    JAI GORKHA
    JAI GORKHALAND
    JAI HIND

  23. Gorkhey Jeep! Says:

    YK da and Jyotidi, guys and gals like you are the jems of the Gorkha Youth, the idiots from Darjeeling who are in US may have scorned you but then they are idiots. We love you and adore you. You guys inspires us teens a lot.

    Gorkhas everywhere are one. Unification of Gorkhas the world over is inevitable.

    Jai Gorkha!

  24. Gorkhey Jeep! Says:

    And I will have to add in this list Ichamani da, Uttam Chettri da, Pinky di, Jiwan da…you guys Rock :)

  25. Ris Ley Andha Bhako Maanchey Says:

    Oie… Gorkhey Jeep… Tire Punchture Bhako Diin Thah Pauhcau… What said.. what to who??? whne?? and how?? where and why???

    Forget everything… Jia Gorkha… Jai Gorkhaland

  26. pankaj Says:

    Sir,I really appreciate your statement Gorkhas In India and Abroad must unite for Gorkhaland…thank you for your contribution toward the community called Gorkhas….however there are certain things which needs to be look upon cearfully………first and important thing is our IDENTITY as GORKHAs insted of saying ourself a nepali Yes I do accept the fact that NEPALI is there………..but I dont think
    we R nepali first GORKHA adfterwards……………

  27. Dinesh Says:

    There are a Lot of Things that this Movement for a Separate State of Gorkhaland must Clarify.

    1. That All the Residents (irrespective of Ethnicity) of the Area Demanded want a Separate State of Gorkhaland in India;
    2. That the Entire Area that constituted the District of Darjeeling in 1865 (after the Treaty of Sinchula) should form the Separate State of Gorkhaland;
    3. That All the Communities are in Support of the Formation of a Separate State of Gorkhaland;
    4. That this Peaceful and Democratic Movement spearheaded by Bimal Gurung is Heading in the Right Direction (however his threats during Rallies and Speeches should be Restrained as it might incite unwanted events for which the WB Govt. is waiting with all eagerness to Brand this Movement a Violent One);
    5. That the National Media (Print as well as Visual) has not been giving coverage from the Perspective of the Residents of this Region - therefore a Need to Invite the International Media is of Utmost Necessity to present a Clear and Unbiased View of this Movement;
    5. That Support from All Global Communities are required (Achieving this Goal is as Tough as Achieving India’s Independence);
    6. That even the Smallest Means of Support should be Accepted and Recognised; and
    7. That the Leadership Must Always Be in Sight of their Target (Nothing Short of a Separate State of Gorkhaland; Must Keep the Masses Informed (not of their Strtegies)and Finally - Be Transparent.

    Best Wishes for the Leadership and All the Supporters of the Movement for the Separate State of Gorkhaland.

    Jai Gorkha, Jai Hind.

    Gurkhali has its history in India back in 1700,its been more the then 300 yrs now and we r still not been able to get united..if we come to the reality….we r fighting among ourself in the name of caste & creed, we dont want to be one, rather we prefer to have our own different community……I dont think we can stand for our right with broken legs…base should me strong enough to let the piller stand for long……….Gorkhaland is not only a political issue,its an issue of identity for all the Gorkhali people living in India….being a sikkimese gorkali I cant say that I M a sikkimese nither gorkhali….I would rather say Nepali & there arise a lot of questions “”"how? Why? WHERE? and so on ……….. Is it necessary that we have to give an explanation about the confusion that the people has,….why there are questions within the people…its just that we address ourself Nepali? why do we call ourself Nepali,why do u create the confusion there are many books which says that we are migrated or we came to india as aslve to work in tea states &so on whish is not entirely true..fact is WE invaded INDIA & capture many part of it… HISTORY REVEALS THAT WE ARE GORKHAS ” THE BRAVEST WORRIERS ” who says that we are slaves or watchmen…LETS GET UNITED WITH AIGYA & FIGHT FOR OUR IDENTITY …wake up get ready to rewrite the history…………

    SIR,
    I DONT THINK I MADE ANY KIND OF MISTAKES BY USING THIS COMMENT BOX TO CONVEY MY MASSAGE TO THE PEOPLE AS I DONT HAVE ANY KIND SOURCE WHERE IN I CAN EXPRESS MYSELF.
    IF I DID,I REALLY APOLOGIZE.ITS JUST THAT I WANT TO AWARE THE PEOPLE THAT UNITY IS PROMINENT. WITHOUT IT WE CANT ACHIEVE OUR GOAL;;

  30. barunroy Says:

  31. abhimanyu Says:

    Dear all those who wish gorkhaland..
    i guess u have forgotten history..,”gorkha ” is district in nepal where gorkhas stay and the darjeeling after being overrun by the invaders “gorkhas” from nepal till1790-1816 and post the war in 1815 was taken from the gorkhas and returned back to sikkim after the treay of titaliya.So i guess u the invaders whose progenitors where such might be compared whith islamic invaders threw out the original haitants -the lepcahs and the bhutias. How do u legitimise your demand of gorkhalnd , i don’t understand and that too u who are apart fo bengal now as much as we bengalis are , are trying to carve out a place like aextortiost (Bimal was so when he was with subhas) from bengal. do u think it will be so easy and we will let us such? do u think there will be no retaliation in here and can u survive alone like aselfish horders. I doubt, so grwo up and try to live peacefully as we all like u as our brothers and bengal is as much yours as to us. bengal has never made any discrimination. It is showing how miser u r in your heart and a extortionst turned leadrr with a peanut brain leading u to your self promised land(or dooms daY?). there is still time to see what u lose and i guess the more realistic view wwould be the socio economic development of darjeeling.darjeeling has till now recieved from the Accounts of finance ministry about a1000 crores which your previous gorkhalnd?? chief subhas and bimal who were brothers of the same glass had devoured. respect history and learn from it.good luck.

    Hill Dilemma

    ” Hill dilemma and a new dilemma in GJMM

    A monkey has said that GJMM President, Bimal Gurungs house at Takvar was been gheraoed yesterday afternoon, 1st July 2008, by the Takvar Kaman people yesterday because he made two girls working in his house pregnant. He already has 2 wives. The incident was quietly hushed up. Wonder where all the so-called “investigative journalists” from Telegraph, The Statesman, Times of India, etc are??

    Bimal Gurung - accused of being behind and involved in Ghisings attempted assasination and KB Gurungs murder is now becoming a “megalomaniac”.

    All Gorkhas should be aware and BEWARE.

    Gorkhs Daju ”

    Any truth to all this ?

  37. A student Says:

    firstly “jai gorkha,jai gorkhaland”
    im a 1st year student styding in calcutta.im very much aware whats hapning in hills through daily news papers and news channels but its a strange to say that when im raised a question by a non-nepali about the issue of gorkhaland,i personally feel that i dont give them an answers which make their intentions clear whatever they are.
    may be its the background of gorkhas in the “hills” specially that im not much aware of.so it cud be an instrument for me to start from.so i would kindly request u Mr.Barun to email me a page in relation to the above topic so that next time someone aks me abt the issue i cud proudly shoot them wid an answer…..
