    NO not propaganda… This video has been taken at Siliguri and they covered it since the tea garden of doors have shut down.. most of the women are now working as sex workers.. n they mentioned Siliguri as Darjeeling, coz it’s an integral part of Darjeeling and Darjeeling is better know world over…Besides this this is a perfect tool for us to charge CPI(M) with and say because of U all this is what it has come down to…

    Iam sorry to tell you that by giving such catchy caption to the video, you have tried to generate traffic for your blog.Infact after watching the video,I was surprised and convinced that the intention of either the reporter or the Producer of NDTV was malicious. So I want to tell you(I know you know the fact)that the place which was shown in the video is actually Indo Nepal border under siliguri sub division and the brothel is of Khalpara,under Siliguri Sub division of Darjeeling District.To be more precise the girl interviwed upon is most probably non-nepali by listening to her hindi accent. NDTV has commited mistake by not specifying exact place of District area and simply said Darjeeling,notwithstanding the fact that it will hurt the sentiments of Darjeeling Hill people and may snowball into yet another controversy. I would have been very happy had this delibrate mistake of NDTV would have been rectified by you, instead of generating money for your blog by giving bold headline to sensitise the issue.Now as far as cross border flesh trade is concerned of Nepali national girls,it has been there since quite long time. Administration and some NGOs are doing good job to crub or to minimise the cross border flesh trade but definitely not very alarming as depicted by you and NDTV.

    Finally the national media enters Gorkhaland,not to expose the corruption and incompetence of the CPM government but to do a report on the so called existing ‘flesh trade’,doesn’t NDTV have better reports to prepare from the hills?The so called ‘flesh trade’ exists all over the world since evolution,some openly,some on the sly.
    NDTV keep out of the hills if you all are just into “FLESH TRADE REPORTING”.
    Where the hell were you all when the Bengal Police beat up our brave ex army men at Darjeeling Mode,had Ashok Bhattacharya requested you all not to cover the peacefull rally.

    Dear Friends,

    Greetings from Darjeeling!

    I hope you are all doing well. I have been asked by numerous of my peers and elders that I should change the title of the above report to ‘Sex trade flourishes in Siliguri.’ However, it is not possible because since the NDTV holds the right to the said report, changing the title might put me into copyright infringement. Anyways the main objective for posting the news report was to show the ignorance of the national media when it comes to Darjeeling Hills. And since, we have been seeking for the amalgamation of Siliguri in Gorkhaland and Siliguri is part of the district of Darjeeling, even changing the title to ‘Sex trade flourishes in Siliguri’ will similarly implicate us as Siliguri essentially belongs to Darjeeling Hills.

    I don’t think so Barun is responsible for the caption,NDTV is solely to blame for the goof up,thanks to Barun we all know what the views of NDTV people are,if NDTV wanted an EXPOSURE,they should contact me in the future,I’ll give them real hard core,uncensored.

    Yes sex trade is flourishing in Darjeeling and I don’t think it NDTV has done to sensationalize the issue or doing any other propaganda. Does anybody knows the HIV & AIDS scenario in our district? It is very alarming. siliguri does fall under Darjeeling and I think Darjeeling’s name has come up here. Once Gorkhaland will be formed this will be another area where the administration has to really spent their fund. It is not sensationals but it is alarming. Besides, just look at the villages at Duars. Visit them. What has been reported here is not myth but the facts.
