Too many questions remain unanswered and all attempts to seek answers remain thwarted from all sides. The series of incidents that rocked Darjeeling Hills may be the beginning of things to come and a parley into uncertainty and chaos. The questions to the following questions must be found or else!

  1. As Pramila Sharma lay grievously wounded before the entrance to the Director General of Police Official Residence, why didn’t the police guards and officials stationed there not respond? Eyewitness reports suggest that – as a hail of bullets was fired from the window of GNLF Darjeeling Branch President’s house, the compound of the Director General of Police Official Residence was in direct purview of the fire.

  1. According to the statement made by Benoy Tamang, the Press and Publicity Secretary of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, Deepak Gurung had been harbouring unsocial elements and storing weapons and ammunition. If this was so why hadn’t the law enforcement authorities not investigated into the matter?

  1.  Eyewitness reports suggest Deepak Gurung and other individuals, possible those who fired from the window of the house was ‘evacuated’ from the house and taken through the compound of the Director General of Police and whisked to unknown locations. If this is so, are Deepak Gurung and the other assailants under arrest? Why hasn’t the District Administration come forward with a statement to the press?
  2. How is it possible for Deepak Gurung and the assailants to escape while the house being virtually under seize by the people?
  3. The District Administration nor the Police have so far not come out with any statement on the death of Pramila Sharma? Why is there such a delay in the same?
  4. After the death of Pramila Sharma and the subsequent public outburst Deepak Gurung’s House was burnt, vehicles burnt at numerous places, lawlessness and chaos reigned over the streets of Darjeeling for more than 12 hours, why did the Police not react. No arrests were made. As mobs moved around setting fire to vehicles, ransacking houses why did the police not react?

Law must prevail by allowing lawlessness to spread, go unchecked and ultimately put an end to it – the Government of West Bengal, District Administration and all parties concerned are guilty of thrusting Darjeeling Hills into the path of Political and social strife. Democracy as such may no longer prevail and for all instruments of Democracy may be not able to function. And as such Darjeeling Hills might fall into chaos. GJM must be careful, for this is what the Government of West Bengal might all the while want to happen in Darjeeling Hills. A few years under Para Military Administration with sweeping power to the District Administration might destroy everyone’s life and lead to indefinite postponement of Civil Rights.

    Mr. Honeybee,

Darjeeling is not situated in Republic of China so that there will be only one party ….. It’s a democratic country…..Everyone have same right to show their opinions…Is GJM is coming out same as past GNLF??? and your leader BG is like ex DGHC chairman Ghising!!!! then you will never get GL….since last 20 yrs Ghising has made you pplz fool and BG is making you fool…same coin but different replica…

It is very bad scene. Looks like they are dragging the wounded woman by leg which is very disgusting. This could be the reason she died due to heavy bleeding. It is obvious that in excitement of accusing the opposition we forgot to properly care a dying woman.

The Leopard can never change its spots

Violent and un – democratic Gurkhas will always remain violent and be misled by gangsters like GhiSingh, Gurung, Burung,..

So much for all that propaganda about GJM using Gandhian ways of peaceful non cooperation etc. etc.

The true nature of Gurkhas is out in the open for all to see – even Sonia Gandhi and MM Singh see it !

Gurkhaland has a chance worse than that of a snowball in Hell.

But onething I came to know from this incident and from the discussion took place in blog room that GNLF is still having enough power in darj hill…even I used to think that no one support GNLF now in darj…but I was wrong…there are so many GNLF supporter but all of them are maintaining silence….as a part of a democratic country what’s the problem if 2 -3 parties exist??? ….Hill areas of darj can be developed if opponent exists otherwise fund ka paisa fir se loot hoga….before Ghising use to loot those money and now Bimal will loot…general pplz will suffer just like before….

Honeybee, raja, laird, anita…you epitomise the typical bangladeshi attitude and traits…you all want to takeover what doesnt belong to you…this site isnt for you!Its for people who care for the Gorkha community and want to contribute towards its betterment and welfare. You all obviously dont belong in that category.Dont you have better things to do then poke your dirty noses into what doesnt concern you? What happens in darjeeling is our business, but you seem to be getting a high because your pathetic comments are read by so many people. You “pepuls” remind me of the behaviour exhibited by your comrades durung the vote of confidence in parliament, particularly that smug fellow by the name of salim. Now the whole of india has seen and the govt has also realized, what the gorkha community has had to put up with all these years, cpm criminals in the guise of politicians elected on bogus/illegal votes. WE wont let you make us anti bengali because we know that among a thousand, there’s at least one who’s good,eg somnath chatterjee! So to all the people i’ve addressed above, i request you to kindly not pollute this site with your unwanted, unappreciated comments, you are a disgrace to your race!

what do you want premesh??? if I start praising GJM and BG then I would be a GOOD BOY to you???….But i dont that type of chap….I always write what I feel right to me….a internet site never belongs to a particular race or community…..it’s a platform to share our opinion….so you peoples dont want to listen or read others comments who write against you….what types of democracy it is???…..

Residing 20 yrs under a dictator ruler your mind also has been changed…..

P.S: you are so fool that you think every bengalis are related to CPIM !!!!!!

I’m not here to pour fuel into the GJM GNLF problms….what I feel right I will share….if you hv problems then dont read my blogs….that’s all from me…

Ghisingh was the ex-dictator of Darjeeling Hill and now Mr. Gurung with his kinsman is the Dictator of Darjeeling. All corrupt people who were with Ghisingh and now joining GJM members out of fear.
When people like Ghisingh / Gurung becomes the Dictator of Darjeeling Hills, such tragic things are obvious. But this incident is yet another example of what kind of Ghandian principles they are following. Like a true dictator Mr. Gurung announced that Mr. Ghisingh should leave Darjeeling… and that grand old man has to leave Darjeeling and come down to Siliguri out of fear.
We cannot expect any law and order of India to be followed if Darjeeling till the time He remains the dictator. Well but people will keep on supporting him in the name of GL till they realize that is nothing but Ghisingh Part II.

It is very disturbing all these happened under the nose of DIG of Darjeeling (Check the photo above). What does it mean in the present context? It is very true that GNLF is not dead and they were trying to come up after 27th July. The action of the police forces in safe guarding the opposition is not forthright nor any justification can be accepted. After the incidence of Darjeeling the burning at Kalimpiong happened on the next day. Again the same question arises why the police personnels not in place to safe guard the GNLF ex councillors when it was anticipated that the violence will erupt.
It is disheartening when the center is keen in negotiating the issue our own people are fighting at each other. In this way the real issue will be hidden. No matter what it is I think it is the time for all to fight together for the major issue THE ISSUE OF GORKHALAND. We can fight among ourselves when the major issue is solved.
