SIKKIM: Delhi centric movement of BGP is the best path: Prof Lama

Gangtok, January 4: Renowned academician and member of National Security Council member Prof Mahendra P Lama has endorsed the ‘Delhi centric’ movement of the Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh (BGP) for the upliftment of the Indian Gorkha community.
The endorsement was given by Prof Lama during a meeting with BGP delegation on January 3 at Gangtok. The BGP delegation led by its central committee general secretary Sukman Moktan had called upon him.
During the two hour interaction, the BGP team sensitized Prof Lama about its ongoing and future activities in the interests of the Indian Gorkha community, it is learnt.
Prof Lama appreciated the activities of BGP and said that the BGP’s present Delhi centric intellectual movement is the best path for the community. The issues and demands should be placed before proper channels, he told the delegation. He also expressed his happiness over the recent success of BGP at Delhi where the body had gathered representatives from all the 22 States of the nation.
