Yes, recently the Chinese ambassador in India went to Darjeeling to distribute salaries to the GLP. They even got a hike (not sure which pay commission is in term in China now!) of 30%. Seeing this the Bengalis also want to be listed in GLP but it has been announced that they will be allowed to only after Gorkhaland is formed.

The Bengal government is using its “macher jhol buddhi” to divide the Gorkhas. They have started floating open tenders all over Darjeeling and have asked the GNLF people to apply. The GNLF, which has no right to anything in Darjeeling till they make their stand on Gorkhaland clear and stop hobnobbing with the Bengal government, are rushing in like fools. Result: Gorkhas fight, Bengalis win, Gorkhaland lost. When will we “lata” Gorkhas learn these tricks from the cunning Bengalis?

i have come to know a section of intellectual people in kalimpong r going to hold a meeting on 14 July to discuss the ill impact of the strike. the meeting is also likely to be attended by the heads of the educational institutions, hotel associations, travellers etc. i think this initiative would definitely send a message to the gjm leadership circle to re-think their decision to call long hartal. this step of the neutral citizens should be welcomed and encouraged by one and all.

I don’t think that Asha Gurung is an architect or an engineer to oversee the construction of her “alleged” building in Bangalore. Even if she is doing that what is the wrong? Asha, like all Indians, has the right to build a houses in any part of India. Even Sonia Gandhi has a house in Shimla – does that mean she has forgotten India?

Well we will see the proof if she has really constructed a building. If she is planning a business venture, then I see no harm. It will benefit the students and people from Darjeeling who go to Bangalore. Unless we have proof we cannot label her as being corrupt. She could have a business partnership going on or she could also have taken a loan for the house.
