Whats the Point There , who does notice it in south africa , i wonder if any one at the match ground has any idea what the flag stands for and what it represent, nothing more than amusement….

It will make an impact defenately if done in Eden Gardens in Calcutta , but who has the guts , Better leave the Gorkhas to wave the flag at Chowk Bazar, thats the only thing they can do.
Thanks to Bimal and his Goonda Gang the future of our children is lost again , we lost so much in 87 , same is to follow..

Don’t be so dejected and don’t assume you know everything…. I certainly hope the Gorkhas will gather their guts after all….. and wave the flag where it matters…. the people have put in so much of their trust in them ….. they will be let down…so very let down otherwise …. hope that does not happen though!

All the best to Darjeelingay s !

Instead of waving the flag of India these Nepalis are waving the flag of “Gorkhaland”. These Nepalis have turned out to be as treacherous as the muslims who are being appeased due to vote bank politics.

It is high time the communists and all national parties are kicked out of West Bengal. We need Bengali parties like Amra Bangali to come in power. We need chief ministers like Narendra Modi. Nepalis will then do everything to prove how well integrated they are with the Bengalis in order to avoid being kicked out of West Bengal.

Bengalis must learn from the Adivasis.

somewhere along the way, people lost track of the demand and the need for Gorkhaland. sadly, we would rather pitch in to the lynching frenzy to get even with bengalis or blood brother instead of preparing towards a long drawn struggle for homeland, which actually is the main objective. how a particular race of people eat, belch or fart is of no concern.

You forget that you are the garbage piling up in my backyard and my efforts are indeed to clean my backyard.

At least sizable number of Bengalis are in the middle class. What about you people who have first destroyed your own country and proving to be a liability wherever you have settled?

How many Nepalis fall in the middle class bracket? Bhutan a country far smaller in size than Nepal today boasts highest growth in the world. Bhutan has far less international support than Nepal and look where these two countries are?
    —————————————————

    To Neophyte

Can foreigners and citizens of a neighbouring country demand a separate state?

Yesterday I watched a vid on Ross Kemp Kenya Special. Believe me if you enter into a lynching frenzy with local Bengalis you will witness something similar to what’s depicted in this vid.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EMFUxA0zS0

100,000 of your brothers were chucked out of Bhutan without even a whimper of protest. When the shit hits the fan, whom do you think the local administration will support?

It may sound strange, you are safe bcoz local Bengalis are not baying for your blood. Vast majority of Bengalis are simply ambivalent about GL. If you push the envelop further, things will change. Activities of GJMM are making parties like Amra Bangali strong and exposing the hollowness and treachery of so called pseudo secular parties like Trinamool, CPIM, Congress etc. who are behind the mess today West Bengal is in.

You guys frequently quote that your demand is as per the constitution of India. Have you guys ever read the Constitution of India? There lies your answer.

As per the Constitution of India and Indo Nepal Treaty, DGHC agreement is illegal as the GOI and West Bengal Govt have no right to enter into agreements with foreigners extending them special privileges especially the kind of privileges mentioned in the DGHC agreement. If this DGHCA is challenged in a court of law, it will be proven to be illegal and therefore null and void. No Govt can enter into tripartite agreements with citizens of a foreign country.

  14. patleybaskounpad said

so why hasn’t anyone litigated against the DGHCA…i too found it strange because an agreement that involved an amendment to the constitution was made between GOI, the state govt. and a now defunct political party, the GNLF….of course i have very little knowledge on this matter so experts may kindly fill in with the real facts… instead of opinions, which xyz is never short of…..

  15. Rajneesh said

People have not litigated bcoz vast majority particularly in West Bengal can’t even write their own names. The few who can, have little knowledge about what lies outside his village and probably majority might have never ventured outside their village. This helps the politicians to keep the masses ignorant and semi illiterate so that their illegal and down right treacherous activities are not exposed.

Can you elaborate upon the amendments effected in the constitution of India to form DGHCA? Perhaps this will throw some light in this matter.

  17. xyz said

PBKU the Constitution will allow agreements only with bona fide citizens of the country as citizens of a foreign country do not fall under the purview of constitution of India.

Hence, this entire DGHCA tripartite agreement as per the law of the land is null and void.

There is a saying in Bengali: Puro Ramayan porey boley Sita kar baap?
Translation is something like this: After reading the entire Ramayana you are asking Sita was whose father?

If you read our earlier comments, we have dealt with this matter in depth. Do we need to start the same discussion all over again?

Hv we checked the citizenship status of SG and BG? Ans is no. Why?

How hv we entered into agreement with ppl whose citizenship is not clear and who represent ppl who are basically legal residents but citizens of another country?

Why did WB Govt stop the signature campaign in Siliguri to identify the citizens of India in DJ?

xyz, Darjeeling was certainly not devoid of population before 1950. Infact the census 1951 shows that Darj Sadar had a total pop. of 169631 persons, and out of this 33605 resided in in Darj town. So all nepali Darjeelingays cannot be foreigners… however it is true that many people did emigrate after that….

  22. Phoenix Within said

    ooops, sorry.
In #20, please read ‘immigrate into Darjeeling’ instead of emigrate.

    Sorry again.

  23. xyz said

PW Today the number is close to 2.5 or 3 million. In 1950 only 20% of the population was Nepali and today it is almost 90%. You do the maths and let me know whether as per the 1950 treaty majority of Nepalis in DJ are they citizens of India or Nepal?

If more than 80% are citizens of Nepal, how can our Govt enter into agreements with ppl who are not Indian in the 1st place? As per the constitution and law of the land this agreement is down right illegal and void.

I live in Darj, and in no way, is the nepali pop in Darj 90%. In an earlier thread (opinion: Mindsets…. ) Agatha has provided approx. percentages, which is much closer to the reality… you can go through them. When you give data, you would give the source ( if you are not a politician or an aspiring one! But even then it would be wrong to lose your credibility in this fashion ).

BTW, on a blog, where you are only an ‘opinion’, should gender matter at all ? If I ever thought it would have mattered I would have provided it ! As far as YOU are concerned, I am a bird!

Strange characters in this blog. Fact is stranger than fiction.

Song specially 4 Pee Wee the Woe Man:

I got a Black Magic Woe man.
I got a Black Magic Woe man.
Yes, I got a Black Magic Woe man,
    She’s got me so blind I can’t see;
But she’s a Black Magic Woe man and
she’s trying to make a devil out of me.

  32. Phoenix Within said

Why did you have to bring in the ‘black magic’? Wasn’t the fact that you have ‘woe fully’ failed to ‘prove me wrong’ – enough !

And you call yourself a bengali ! In the land of Tagore ! Shame on you ! I think you must be one of those chinese maovadis in disguise as a bangladeshi pretending to be a bengali ! Rabindranath would have died of shame if he had been alive today to think you are a bengali!

Have you gone through ‘Tasher Desh’? I think you are the ‘golam’ in the pack of cards – you are so rigid and ignorant !

Watch this part of Tasher Desh and learn if you can. However, with your pea brain, it might be too much to expect !

  33. Phoenix Within said

However, on a serious note, for ‘u’, ‘Tasher Desh’ is so brilliant as a dance drama (even Tagore considered it to be better than Shapmochan in fact), and in a highly allegorical manner Tagore here discusses liberation and freedom of the ‘mind’ from any kind of bondage – community, gender, religion,- any rules and regulations in fact.

Sometimes I wonder if Germaine Greer had gone through ‘Tasher Desh’ while she was growing up in Australia she would have experimented with her life so harshly with the bohemian ‘push’ – or even written her first best seller ! We bengalis are lucky in this regard!

Well, in case you still do not understand, education brings understanding, makes people aware of their insufficiencies – which brings sorrow but that itself is the path to learning….

  34. Phoenix Within said

    @Xyz

Btw, if someone says s/he is a bengali, and has not read Rabindranath, I don’t think I’ll ever take that person seriously as a bengali !

Pee Wee the Woe man, after watching 2 seconds of your gay shit I am beginning to wonder whether we Bengalis are treading the same path as that of the Eloi’s in H.G.Well’s futuristic The Time Machine?

This is a brief description of the Eloi’s and Morlock’s who feed on the weak stupid effeminate Elois.
    ==========================================================================================
    The Time Machine

In the year AD 802,701 humanity has evolved into two separate species: the Eloi(Bengalis) and the Morlocks (Nepalis, Marwaris, Biharis etc.). The Eloi are the spoiled, attractive group, living a banal life of ease on the surface of the earth, while the Morlocks live underground, tending machinery and providing food, clothing and infrastructure for the Eloi. Each class evolved and degenerated from humans of different social classes, a theme that reflects Wells’ sociopolitical opinions.
The main difference from their earlier ruler-worker state is that, while the Morlocks continue to support the world’s infrastructure and serve the Eloi, the Eloi have undergone significant physical and mental deterioration. Having solved all problems that required strength, intelligence, or virtue, they have slowly become dissolute, frail animals. They are described as being smaller than modern humans, having shoulder-length curly hair, chins that ran to a point, large eyes, small ears, and small mouths with bright red thin lips. They are of sub-human intelligence, though apparently intelligent enough to speak, and they have a primitive language.
While one initially has the impression that the Eloi people live a life of play and toilless abundance, it is revealed that the Morlocks are attending to the Eloi’s needs for the same reason a farmer tends cattle: because the Eloi compose most, if not all, of the Morlocks’ diet and no longer have any function beyond this.

Well whats all the fuss is about ? Let me make one thing clear to ” XYZ; I LOVE MY INDIA AND NEOPHYTE” that its all because of the Gurkha’s that u guys r enjoyin democracy had it not been for Gurkha’s by now u guys would be toiling under the Pakistani Government. For e.g “KARGIL WAR”. AND for u r kind information if u go through history then u guys will find out that when India gianed Independence from British that time Mr Jawaharlal Nehru did say that he did not want to keep any GURKHA’S in India and that time U.S.A had stepped forward to take all the Gurkha’s but again Jawaharlal Nehru did not let them have the Gurkha’s why? because he knew Gurkha’s are the “Bravest of the Brave”. And they can defend India like no others can. So How come we became foreigners in India? As for Fox killer I live in HongKong I have the Jan Mukti Morcha flag flying out of my window.

    La Huso

I guess you are not aware about the dismal performance of the Indian army and particularly the Gorkhas. It was due to inability of our army to flush out militants from Kargil, that IAF was pressed into service. It was the emergency Israeli supplied laser guided bombs which saved the day. There were only 5 Indian Gorkha casualties which is even lower than that of states like Orissa and Jharkhand, keeping in mind 100s of Haryanvis n Punjabis who lost their lives in Kargil. If you consider the fact that there are 7 or more Gorkha regiments and the number of casualties you get the picture that your Gorkhas were not fighting but trying to save their skin in the heat of the battle. Moreover, the commanding officer (who is a non-Nepali) of the Gorkhas was killed. Which is quite surprising considering the extremely low casualty among the Gorkhas. Was he killed by his own troops for egging them to move forward? We never know the truth.

Your Gorkhas were a creation of the British and hence far from saving Indians it was a tool to enslave the Indians(India’s 1st war of Independence and Jallianwala Bagh). No wonder you refuse to integrate with local Indians and want a separate state although you are foreigners brought here by another group of foreigners who have been kicked out of India. Guess it’s now your time to be kicked out of Bengal like you are being kicked out from elsewhere in NE and Bhutan. Time to get rid of all slavish colonial legacies.

Nehru was not able to kick out the Gorkhas bcoz the Indian Army is steeped in colonial legacy and practices and it wanted to continue with the colonial traditions. The Indian Army is run and operated pretty much like a colonial army even till this day. Regiments are formed on the basis of caste and community etc. and recruitment based on “martial race” theory which has been rubbished by 5 wars with Pakistan. No wonder wherever Army goes for “peace keeping ” in India they are hated by the local population.

As u have there were only 7 casualties from the Gurkha regiment but there were more casualties from the other regiment. Do u know why Because I had already said it to you we Gurkhas are the “Bravest of the Brave” and we know how to fight and even the enemies are afraid of us they will think twice wether to face Gurkha or to show their back to Gurkha when Gurkha’s are on charge. But for other regiment the enemy have no fear so fight back that is why Gurkhas have less casualty compared to other regiment.Since u know quite a lot about Kargil could u pls tell me which regiment was deployed first to kargil and which regiment was the first one to have victory.
U try to get rid of colonial traditions this is the reason why while travelling by train we see lot of people SQUATTING IN LINE IN A FIELD early in the morning but tell u one thing u will never in ur life see Gurkha’s in that position.
