SIKKIM: Science exhibition has more models this year

Gangtok: The second day of science exhibition 2009 has many students of different schools around Gangtok as visitors at Paljor Indoor Stadium (Gymnasium Hall). Total 60 exhibits are on display. The number and standard of exhibits have increased this year compared to last year”s science exhibition at White Memorial Hall which had only 48 exhibits, Mr. Santi Ram Sharma, an organizing committee member said.
Last date of application to participate in the exhibition was 1st October but only a few schools had applied so the date was extended to 20th October within which 60 schools enlisted. Those who came later were not admitted, Mr. Sharma said.
Of the 60 participant schools, 21 are from south district, 20 from east and 9 each from west and north. The exhibits are on climate change and other models on Physics, Chemistry and Biology of Senior Secondary School standard.
One teacher and two students are representing each school. Students are explaining their models to the visitors.
