I Abide by Blogger Code of Ethics
I hereby declare from this day, the 27th of January 2008, that I shall
I will post as accurate only information that I know to be accurate.
If accuracy is in doubt, I will convey this in a note to the reader.
I will not plagiarize material, nor quote without attribution.
I will delete comments only when they are needlessly inflammatory, racist, or spam.
I will try to ensure that what I post is not only accurate but presents a complete picture, I will not try to post only part of a story or an argument.
I will not edit photographs to misrepresent news.
I will not reveal details that have been given to me in confidence.
I will not publish private emails unless explicitly permitted to do so. I will not publish names or details when asked not to do so.
I will respect other’s copyrights and not post without the copyright holder’s permission, except when abiding by the terms of “fair use” (generally small excerpts for journalistic purposes).
Unless my posting inadvertently violates one of the other codes mentioned, I will generally not change the URLs or delete my postings, although I may correct for grammar, clarity, or spelling.
If corrections need to be made, I will try to use strikeout rather than deleting the material and mark all updates as such.
I will not attack, embarrass, humiliate, or make others fear for their safety.
I will do no personal harm. Beyond this, I will endeavor to create what is good and beneficial for society, rather than hurt it or waste its time.
I will try to ensure that my posts are edited for spelling, grammar, and clarity, and that all links are correct.
I will always provide all facts relevant to an opinion when criticizing. I will always assume possible confusion or misunderstanding before labeling something or someone as fraudulent.
I will try to provide original material of interest to my readership. I will not simply quote or link to other blogs.
I will not pass on gossip about private individuals nor report on embarrassing facts about others. I will not link to or report information that is accidentally leaked.
I will respect my readers, critics, and subjects of my posts. I will discuss and answer all people with respect, regardless of age, sex, race, religion, nationality, ability, attractiveness, and social or economic status.
I will not respond with rudeness to rudeness. I will apologize when appropriate and stand on principle only when absolutely necessary.
I will affirm what are my own words and posts, and not claim credit for others, or deny responsibility for my own. I will clearly separate what are my own words from others.
I will not post anything that could endanger others’ safety, including identifying information about minors or vulnerable individuals.

Thank you for your comment Akhilesh and Welcome to Beacon Online. Since you are a student studying in Kolkata and since we are practically family - I am a hybrid with a Nepalese mother and a Bengali father, there is no need to use such prefixes as Mr. You can simply call me Barun. It is good to know that you are doing well in your studies. We need a lot more guys like you. My best wishes. I started this site because I wanted to do something for Darjeeling Hills. My most important objective is to have our aspirations resonated all over the world not just among our community but among all humanity. I would be much obliged if you could participate on the many discussion that takes place in this site. I would also be greatly obliged if you could send articles, essays and write ups touch Gorkha/Nepali life to be shared with all our friends. Please to keep in touch.
thanking you
Barun

Hi Barun,
Thanks for replying. Actually we, and i speak on behalf of all my friends who hail from Darjeeling District, were searching for a platform to vent our feelings and to contribute in some way to our common cause. I’am really excited at the prospect of contributing to the betterment of my homeland. It is for this reason that i was searching the net for topics on Gorkhaland and i came across your site. I will tell all i know about your novel endeavour and will encourage all to be a part of it.
Thanking you again.
Akhilesh
P.S. Will participate on the discussions after i read the articles on your site.

hello barun,
i was the one who gave you that call.my name is saurabh rai and am based in kolkata.the comments made by the bengali were directly aimed at hurting our sentiments and as i have already mentioned to you, bloggers like him should be barred.it seems he has entered this site with a premeditated aim of degrading the gorkhas and i also request you to bar our people from making any such derogatory comments against the bengalis.but i am sure the GORKHAS will never stoop that low.WE ARE A PROUD RACE AND WE WILL REMAIN THAT WAY FOREVER.

Hi Barun,
Its nice to see that you are enocouraging the general public to share their voice;Though we are busy with our corporate world but I do take a few moments to glance through the reviews and comments made in your blog;I too have kept history of darjeeling from pre independence with dates mentioned even the number of days the pakistani flag was fluttering in capital hall;The rape of the nurse in kalimpong,the letter to the govt by her sister the than Ambassador of India to Panama.The first meeting and movement in sukhia pokhri before GNLF,I was just a student then but even then I would love to take note and interact with leaders ;My last meeting with Mr ghisingh was in 2002 in LalKothi but now Im just left with history and my corporate world,so thanks for youe news high lights;

Mr NB, if you can, please share those interesting facts and dates in your archive as we can rarely find those these days anywhere and most of them are tampered ones befitting the distributors’ benefit!
