My Books

Dear Friends,Books have been the first love of my life. Yes, I read them and for long been guilty of authoring some of them. I started writing short stories when I was in school and in 1998 came up with a collection of short stories titled ‘Portraits of Life’. Till date, I have authored 11 books. You have been greatly forthcoming when it came to the general contents of this blog. I hope that you will also be that much interested in my books and hopefully buy them. If you would like to know more about the books, you could click on the covers for more information. And further if you are interested in buying them a comment at the appropriate page of your desired book would immediately have been responding to your desire. You could find more information on how to buy the books on the respected books page. However, to summarize here the same, you can simply post in the comment desiring to buy the book. I would get in touch with you through email. You will have the liberty to pay the price of the book through Paypal, Bank Draft or Money Order. Once the money is received, I acknowledge the receipt of the payment and send you the details of the books dispatched to you. As simple as that. Further, you could read the chapters of the book before buying the book. You could also gift the books to your friends and family members.

Thanking you,

with best regards

Barun

P. S. Though I have authored 11 books so far, the following are presently available for online sale. Still negotiating with my publishers. However, I hope that in due future I am able to including all my books on this blog. Friends, you can also avail yourself of the PDF versions of the book. Details are included in the respective pages.

    Dear Friends,

Thank you for your interest in my books. You can now buy them online and even in PDF version if you are living abroad. A lot of my friends ask me to send them my books but the postage bills are certainly a killer. I have converted most of my books into PDF versions and you can now get them for dirt cheap and at instant convenience. However, if you are in India and abroad and can’t do without the rustic smell of the paper in your hand and the book itself to carry around while you travel…nothing beats paper. Printed versions of all my books are available and you can purchase them with a little added sum due to postage. Still, you can find my books cheaper than others. Of course, I hope that the contents are also pleasing and relevant. At present I am marketing six of my books online and you can buy them by simply sending me a Bank Draft of the specified amount. All drafts can be in favour of “Barun Roy” and payable at Darjeeling. As soon as you post the draft to me, you can email me and I promise to send the books forthwith.

    Hi Barun!!
I am from Kolkata. I came across to your blog while searching for himalayan aqautic plants in google but could not find any useful information. I am a fresh water planted tank (aquarium) hobbyist. Sikkim & Darjeeling with so many rivers & streams is ideal location for weather conditions for aquatic plants like glossostigma or heminanthus (New Zealand natives)to thrive, which is good demand across globe. But often while sourcing the same imports from Bangalore we do not get good varieties. So can you or anyone provide any help on this?

    Regards
    Souvik

    Dear Bahini,

Greetings from Darjeeling! Please do give me a day or two and I will try to release some excerpts from Fallen Cicada. I cannot release the entire book in PDF format free online because, I am taking out Fallen Cicada 2 – Unwritten History of Darjeeling in the coming future and since it is being published by a publishing house they want to keep a strict check on the circulation of the book including text and images. I can promise you one thing though. The day Fallen Cicada 2 comes out I will have it dispatched to you as a gift.
