  13. Suraj Roy Says:

    Dear Mr Bimal Roy
Have you noticed the outcome of the recent outbrake of the violance in the foot hill region?
People are so much panicked. Who is responsible for it? a abstruct is being cited from free wikipedia.” Since late 2007 the demand for a separate has been started more intensely and growing by the renegade GNLF leader Mr. Bimal Gurung a ex-criminal and contractor (murdered atleast 7 bengali people in GNLF movement time in late ’80s) under the newly formed party called Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM)”. Ref. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorkhaland. Please think
    over it.

  14. Suraj Roy Says:

One bud but two unequal leaves.

    • Shibaji Sarkar, organizer of Greater Coochbehar Peoples Association was arrested at Raiganj- allegedly for erasing the word “ Paschimbanga” from a office board at Karnojora, Uttar Dinajpur – The Ananda Bazar Patrika ( Siliguri) -22nd June –front page.

    • The Hill Morcha people ordered to erase the title WB in the No. plate of the vehicles – same newspaper on the same date – page seven.

  15. Suraj Roy Says:

Entry Prohibited for the Bhupalees and the Elephants.

  16. tatu Says:

and inflow of people from “NEPAL”>

  17. Bishal Says:

Mr Suraj, you missed a few words; “Entry must be prohibited for Bhupalees, Elephants and Bangladeshis as well (and everyone knows that the latter ones are the most venomous of all!)

  18. jwalahang Says:

AND WAT ABOUT the thousands of Hindu Bengalees who were oppressed and kicked out of Bangladesh during the Partition of Bengal, liberation of Bangladesh and during the regime of Khalida Zia’s BNP regime a few years ago ???

  19. Suraj Roy Says:

Dear Brothers- Tatu, Bishal and Jwalahang you should agree that-
    • the migration of wild elephants should not be restricted within the precinct of political boundaries.
    • As well as the rehabilitation of refugees is a global responsibility and any country should not deny it.

  20. Suraj Roy Says:

It is a heinous crime to put the children in hunger strike; every sensible parents and teachers should react. – It is not the democracy, it is a blatant distortion of it.

  21. Suraj Roy Says:

    Dear Sir,
This is in connection to the article posted by Mr. H. Adhikary, “ Is gorkha land An Unjustified Demand?” I humbly like to disagree his logic as he mentioned “ crucial component of India’s armed forces”; there are other brave regiments in Indian army.
The Gorkha regiment is only a part of Indians regiment. Actually the Britsh introduced the Gorkha Regiment. But the term “ Ghorkha” is used improperly by the British because they actually recruited a few warrior tribes ( Jati?) of Nepal who subsequently proved to be great warrior. During the freedom struggle have any Gorkha opposed the British to use the term Gorkha Regiment? – To my knowledge no Gorkha have ever put objection to use the term, because within the fallacy of the term they expected to get some job in army. Recently it is noticed that MNO is growing strong in Nepal and they are trying to establish that only 20% of the population in Nepal are only Gorkha. This greed of the gorkhas(socalled) made them unpopular to the Jatis in Nepal as well as to the other tribes in North Bengal (The Anandabazar, siliguri, 30th Jul).
The author should know the Khalisthan movement is foiled in India in spite of the fact that the Sikhs are brave and have a profound contribution in the freedom struggle and in every stages of metamorphism of the Indian history down to the present time.
Now the procedure of allotting a state-hood the Central Government has nothing to do unless the state desires. Therefore, the author inappropriately referred “ New Delhi need to understand ………..”
Moreover, on the ground of external security reason no state was created under Indian Union neither it is necessary in the context of Globalization.
And above all inasmuch as this part of W. Bengal is a multiethnic region there is no need to grant a land to a particular ethnic group. In India no state was created on ethnic basis.
To the contrary some ethnic groups prefer to live with the mainstream societies. Some authors along who advocate about the Gorkha land do not have the knowledge that the Bengali people are not coherent in ethnic, religion, origin, language and nationality but one thing is that the are Bengali.

When it is Bengalees, they are REFUGEES, so India has the reponsibilty to feed them. Same way, ur so-called Bhupalees too are refugees, so they have right to settle as you Bangladeshi refugess.

  23. Dhritiman Sengupta Says:

    Dear Shrestha,
Aren’t you settled? Where is the problem? Take the case with UNHCR and go by the right to rehabilate. Refugees, by definition, do not have the right to seek dominion status within a foreign country. The best shelter would be NEPAL as Bangladeshis in WEST BENGAL.

It’s a case of Heads-YOU WIN and tails - I LOSE as far as you are concerned. Man, Bangaldeshis can settle in West Bengal, agreed. Go on settling them man, one day all of you will be mias. Babu-moshai, Darjeeling was never a part of Bengal, so we want Gorkhaland. Your land became a foriegn country, so u r a foriegner or Refugee as you may like to see it. We came with our land to India, unlike you guys who left your land there and came “khali haath” to settle in others’ land. You people have been land grabbers from time immemorial. You have grabbed Tripura, half of Assam, part of Meghalaya, almost all of North Bengal which orignally belonged to Gorkhas and Adivasis. Kuch sharam karo.

  25. YK Shrestha Says:

Why don’t u take your case to UNHCR too and settle your loving brothers from Bangladesh legally instead of settling them illegally.

I am happy that now you admit that all the bengalis in West Bengal are from Bangladesh..so take all your brethren bengalis in West Bengal back to Bangladesh (the place where you come from) and let us live in peace.

    HAIL GORKHA HAIL GORKHALAND

  27. YK Shrestha Says:

I agree with you Lepchaji. When Bangladeshis are concerned, it’s ok to settle as per Mr.Dhritiman and when we Gorkhas have come with our land, we are foreigners as per him.

Heads he wins and tails we lose.

  28. Nisha Says:

    Dearest Yam daju…

It made ma laugh while reading your contents for Dhritiman (i wish it would have been Dhrutamaan..Pakhandi..ha ha!)at the sametime made me feel proud towards you..what to do brother!! jaba sidha finger le butter niklindaina ta..we have to use our bent fingers..!) I totally agree with you..the Gorkhali people have been come with their land..just the reverse..as Bengalis have been thrown from their land..tsk! tsk! poor BABU MOSHAIS..!!

  31. barunroy Says:

    Dear Mr. Sharma,

The news is genuine. For more information you can inquire at GJM Headquarters Singamari.

As far as I can recollect Khalistan was for a separate country no? The Sikha already had Punjab/Haryana…will have to check with my Sikh friends on this one…

  34. Dhritiman Sengupta Says:

    Dear Shreshtha & Nisha,
What you talk about India, think about freedom struggle. When you think about freedom struggle, there are only bengalees and bengalees. British had made the surgery to cut Bengal to two pieces. How can you appreciate the contribution if you do not regard India as your country? Your words are your reflection, you brought land from Nepal to settle here. How man? Try this theory!
    Dhritiman.

  35. Mumbaiwala Says:

    Dear D.Senupta Da,

Listen to Indian “Freedom Strugle History” from my perspective. Shall I start with “East India Comapny” & their Chamchas? It was Calcutta which alloweded English to enter in our country. Bengali Babu’s were busy SERVING them for more than 200 years, then came Tilak and Namjoshi (fool who said “what Bengal thinks today India will think tommorrow” & guess what they are still thinking that) for starter.

For your kind information It was India which was DIVIDED not Bengal and a person doing that was PUNISHED by Marathi & not BENGALI, (ref. M.K.Gandhi)

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Rose but Failed ask me why? He was not ready to SPILL his blood. ” Give me blood & I will give you Freedom” You got it? I still have relatives in BURMA ( Fools who went along (NSB) Azad Hind Fouz. Then who gave Blood that time? It was Gorkhas & Marathas not Bengalis.

When British left Calcutta it was a FINANCIAL capital of India. But look what has happened to whole of West Bengal and where rest of India has Progressed? Now don’t compare yourself with UP, Bihar Orrissa. If you dare to compare yourself with Gujrath ,Maharashtra & Karnataka.

This is BLOG here you are not supposed to show fingers at others as three will be towards you. Speak your mind but with KNOWLEDGE.

Last but not least Please read “White paper” (Its a Official Document in Govt. Gazzette) issued by then CM Sri. Jyoti Basu on 28/10/1986, which clearly says that Darjeeling & Terai was never a part of West bengal. If that’s a CASE how come you are trying to say that Gorkhaland is Division of West Bengal?
    Please explain.

  36. Suraj Roy Says:

    Dear Shrestha,
You have a good discussion with some Dhritiman so I prefer to refrain from that matter Let’s have a lighter moment.

    In a military Hospital:
SAM: “ Kaancha, kitne goli lagi”
    Jawan: “ Char saab”
SAM: “ Arey, teen aur lagwana tha, tab shaayad ek jarnail ban jathe”

Addendum: “ Agar bis aur sawhe lete to ek Bangali Babu ban saakte”

  37. YK Shrestha Says:

    @Suraj Roy Says:
July 1, 2008 at 10:11 am )Suraj, u r a bloody pompous, concieted bangladeshi. (Sorry everyone for the expletives used here, but Mr.Roy has compelled me to do that).
We don’t want to be Bengali babu who is always licking the bum of the people who are in power. History proves that how Bengali babus were hand in gloves with the British. I love the ordinary bengalees like us, but not the bum licking bengali babus.
I have lots of bengali friends, but none of them seem to be like some of you who are in this blog. Sometimes, I wonder and start thinking whether the bengalees have changed, then suddenly I realise that all my bengali friends were/are sons of the soil unlike most of the bangladeshis/progenys of bangladeshis in this blog.

I know it is frustating but calling names and using swears would not make the matter better instead it would increase the poison our hearts towards each other. My sincere request to both Shresthaji and Pseudeji to control yourself and continue with a healthy discussion and pull out facts and figure which would enlighten both the parties and lead us to a fruitful future.

  66. YK Shrestha Says:

Nishoo, Pseude is a nice guy and a sensible blogger. Guess, he has had a bad day today.

What say dear Pseude? Let’s call truce. Truce I said, not white flag :-)

  67. B Lepcha Says:

I know it is frustating but calling names and using swears would not make the situation better instead it would increase the hatred in our hearts towards each other even more - My sincere request to both Shresthaji and Pseudeji to control yourself and continue with a healthy discussion and pull out facts and figure which would enlighten us and lead us to a fruitful future.

  68. YK Shrestha Says:

I agree with you Lepchaji, I have already called a truce with Pseude because I know he has been a sensible blogger all these days and I have had a healthy blogging with him. It seems today was one of his off days or may be one of my off days (as pseude may like to see that way).

  69. Nisha Says:

    Dear Yam daju..

Its good you have apologized to that PSEUDO..!! I really dont care if hes a nice guy or sensible blogger..coz for me every person who insults and humiliate the Nepalese are no more than insects…!!my comments and my remarks are mine and i feel not the slightest guiltiness for having spoken what I had to say…

    LONG LIVE GORKHALAND..HAIL NEPALESE!

I ALWAYS REMAIN A PROUD GORKHALI (NEPALI) WOMAN..!!

  70. YK Shrestha Says:

Nishoo, I apologised to him based on my previous experience with him. I guess he had an off day today.

  71. Jyoti Mukhia Says:

    Hello Yam ji,
Nice to see you getting angry. Missed the real time outrage.

  72. Suraj Roy Says:

What a dirty things going on, Please Stop:

  73. pseude Says:

Well, my apologies to you too. You started it by calling “Dumbo Bongo” to someone and there was another someone gleefully backslapping you. Guess that really charged you up. I was beginning to beleive the adage “What you eat comes out”.

About this whole controversy of calling people Bangladeshi - well, hindus of east bengal origin do never deny they came from Faridpur or Dhaka or Sylhet. This legacy is a part of Bengali history and culture and football. That is why we have “East Bengal” team here in West Bengal and Mr. Baichung Bhutia started his career in this team.

  74. YK Shrestha Says:

    Welcome Pseude.

@Suraj Roy- Come on Suraj, u started this early in the morning and you calling/asking (July 1, 2008 at 5:05 pm What a dirty things going on, Please Stop.)does not behove of u well. Pls desist writing hate/sarcastic items here. Mr. “I am watching” gave u all the reply, so I hope u r satisfied. If you give others, u get it back too.

JM bhai, akhir Gorkha ragat nai ho, ke garne?? I told u yday that I’ll not blog here, I’ll just read, but this gentleman Suraj Roy had written some nasty things and our good old friend Pseude got into this mess too.

  75. YK Shrestha Says:

@Pseude - About this whole controversy of calling people Bangladeshi - well, hindus of east bengal origin do never deny they came from Faridpur or Dhaka or Sylhet.)

Well Pseude, no one disagrees to that and that’s a historical tragedy. Your parents came from Bangladesh, I/we have no issues with that. In fact, no one would have issues with that. Issue is with the ongoing illegal flow of Bangladeshis till date. I think no one would have issues with the recent hindu migrants too as we/all the political parties understand that they are being persecuted in Bangladesh. But, what about the hordes of mias coming into our land? What has happened to Malda, Parganas, Coochbehar etc and Assam/Tripura? True, there have been illegal migrants from Nepal too, but unlike u guys, we have been against that all along. Sikkim doesn’t allow them into their state. Moreover, most of these migrants are daily wage earners who go back to their own country (nepal)after making some money. But, what about bangladeshis? They come here and settle down permanently changing the demographic profile of the place. That has already happened to Silgarhi. May be in Silgarhi there are more Bangaldeshi hindus settled than the mias, but then why go on accepting them even after 60 years? We have sympathy with them being them hindus, but—–.It’s not only us, you guys too will have problems if this is not checked permanently.

Keep your hands on your heart, dig the history, read it and see whom did Silgarhi belong to. You might as well say that it’s difficult to get things undone now. If we are demanding Silgarhi now, what is the problem with you all? You will still be in the majority and no one is going to drive away no one. So, why this paranoia? Gorkhaland as a state would be viable only if Silgarhi and Dooars are included. As a result, all of us would prosper. Think from that perspective.

  76. Nisha Says:

you know what Pseudo..YK Shrestha was forced to tell that someone dumbo bongo…coz that dumbo bongo called us the dumb gorkhas..did u get me? infact the same proverb..WHAT YOU EAT IS WHAT YOU GET..is backfired to you..!! you should..look before you leap..!! you could really get into a QUICKSAND..!!! from where there is no chance of escape..and someone backslapping YK Shrestha..you meant to me…oh yes! i shall always encourage an individual who is fighting for a genuine cause..by HOOK OR BY CROOK!! we should not make personal attacks and abuse each other on this blog..but if some slaps me once..i dont give my other cheek to be slapped..instead i slaps him innumerable times..just to make him realize our true identity…!!
Regardless of what Barun Roy has posted on the left handside..for all the bloggers to post healthy comments..if anyone dares to challenge my Nepalese culture and leave no stones unturned to insult us..sure can they expect double, triple scorns, abuses, rudeness and still more to come…ATLEAST FROM MY SIDE..!!

    NAMASTE!!!

[ALL PROFANITY WILL STILL BE BANNED ON ALL COMMENTS| REGS MODERATOR]

  77. Suraj Roy Says:

Dear Shresttha as Thakares are Maharatrian I am Bengali. We are not emigrant from Bangladesh.
Long before the British came in this part of India we are living here but we prefer to accept the main stream living style and proudly call us Bengali Indian. Ethnic identy is not so important in the Indian life style.

  78. pseude Says:

YK, the ongoing immigration from Bangladesh is 99% muslim (mia bengalis) and we dont have any sympathy towards this. These immigrants find it much easier to settle here in West Bengal because of same language and even same religion in border areas like Murshidabad or Malda. Even Assam has been unable to check this and I’m sure you know that.

Its completely wrong to assume Bengali hindus support this when they themselves were thrown out of their homes by these mias once upon a time. However owing to vote bank politics and other dynamics, most parties as you well know are turning a blind eye to this issue.

  79. pseude Says:

Hi Nisha, request you to calm down, OK? I didnt respond anything to you even though you wrote a lot of things directly at me. There are hot headed extremists on this side too and its only a coincidence that too many of them dont participate in discussions here.

  80. Nisha Says:

    Dear Mr. Pseudo..

Is this a threat imposed on me..as you have said to calm down..and also that some real hot headed extremists could swallow me like the TSUNAMI..??? didnt get you..

pls do correct yourself..today was the first time I had directly written to you..otherwise my comments to you were rather indirect..!! check out the past blogs..

  81. pseude Says:

Nisha…There you go again..what made you think it was a threat? Is your mind hardwired only to think like this?

  82. Nisha Says:

Pseudo..sorry if it werent a threat…I assume you could be right in thinking my mind is all set with hardwires..thats why I was bound to think in a negative way…apologies…!!!apologies..!!

  83. X-MAN Says:

well well well…..there seems to be some consensus at least in this blog here…..good job both of you!!!

  84. YK Shrestha Says:

Good morning Nishoo and namaskar Pseude bandhu,

As I said yday, the people who have been calling names and saying that Nepalese are coming to Silgarhi and settling down is wrong. 99% of them are daily wage earners, labour class and they have no way/resource of settling down here. If you find Gorkhas settling recently here, they are 99% from North Eastern states and there are Nagas, Manipuris and Arunachalis settling down here. The Gorkhas from North Eastern states are 99% ex-servicement who have served the country.

  85. Nisha Says:

its strange hai yam daju…ramro ma hami too good…!! bhaladmi haru choun..but again pheri..behora dekhaunu pareyma..we really dont care about anything..anyways..hope the discussion at any blog be a healthy one…

  86. Suraj Roy Says:

    Simply Joke:
SAM: ‘If any one tells you he is never afraid, he is a liar or a gorkha”

Addendum: Dipender Singh asked “Sam Bahadur Ji aap aise kiu bola?”
SAM: “ See, I Can’t read the expressions of tiny eyes in soccer-like face”

  87. YK Shrestha Says:

You seem to have a talent Suraj Roy. Why don’t u contribute to the newspapers instead of this blog? That may fetch u some money too.

  88. Nisha Says:

    Suraj Roy…

You are very very correct…that was simply a joke said by SAM..!! coz he meant what he said..God Must Be Crazy!! for having sent jokers at blog today..ha ha! or ye laughter challenge hai kya..pls you have stepped into a wrong track…arey! babu moshai..star plus ya phir star one mein jaate..is sadi gali joke ke saath…kya hum logo ka sar khaa rahe ho…

  97. Relay Says:

Is there any truth in the following item ?

Posted by a Reader in the on-line version of The Statesman,Calcutta, Jul 2, 2008 as a comment to an article titled ” Hill Dilemma ” :

” Hill dilemma and a new dilemma in GJMM

A monkey has said that GJMM President, Bimal Gurungs house at Takvar was been gheraoed yesterday afternoon, 1st July 2008, by the Takvar Kaman people yesterday because he made two girls working in his house pregnant. He already has 2 wives. The incident was quietly hushed up. Wonder where all the so-called “investigative journalists” from Telegraph, The Statesman, Times of India, etc are??

Bimal Gurung - accused of being behind and involved in Ghisings attempted assasination and KB Gurungs murder is now becoming a “megalomaniac”.

All Gorkhas should be aware and BEWARE.

    Gorkhs Daju ”

    Anyone care to comment ??

  98. Suraj Roy Says:

    Simply joke:
    In the Heaven:
Sweeti : Hi, SAM, How are You?, What about the Gorkhas?
SAM: Don’t be happy; there is other long nosed persons, Jyoti Babu and Buddha Babu, who love Gorkhas more than the Rajbansis.

    Simply joke:
Why Sam Bahadur so popular among Gorkhas?
This is due to his long nose which the Gorkhas never deserve.

Why Sam loved Gorkha regiment? – There was none to poke his long nose in his affair.

This is my way to pay my tribute to Field Marshal Manekshaw – May his sole rest in peace.

Thanks to Bimal Roy and Himalayan Beacon for hosting the blog.

  99. Nisha Says:

Help Suraj..!! He needs to be immediately admitted at Raanchi…!! since yesterday, he has been flowing such stinking jokes at this blog..

dont bring Sam in the middle…if you have the guts.then visit UK..there you will find out what Sam and the rest really think of you ppl…tsk! tsk! poor chap..
    GHAR SAANDE BAN BIRAALO..HA HA!

  100. YK Shrestha Says:

    Darling Suraj,

Here’s one for you and this is not a joke, this is true story that happened in 1975 with my cousin.

At Darjeeling Mall, one bengali tourist asks my cousin:

Hello, hello, Is Kanchenjunga available today? (I guess he wanted to know if Kanchenjunga was visible that day)

My cousin asked him:- Oh, have you taken the appointment with Kanchenjunga??

  101. YK Shrestha Says:

    Another one!

    Overheard two bengalees fighting:

The first bong says: Besi korbis na! matha bhange debo.
The other one: If I DELIVER you one blow, then you will fall HORIZONTALLY on the floor!!

  102. Nisha Says:

ha ha! YK daju..finally you brought Suraj flat on the ground..suraj huwa maddham..ha ha!

he must have collection of small pocket size joke books..and that too he speaks of Sam the most..I presume him to be an ARDENT fan of Sam..

  103. Nisha Says:

  104. pseude Says:

Do you think he gives a s**t for your warnings. You’ve just been jumping over everyone’s backs with your warnings with nothing else to contibute…expect for your occasional “yuk yuk”.

  105. YK Shrestha Says:

Welcome Pseude, I suggest that you put in your sensible blogs and react only if it is directed against you.
